The WUPJ published a statement recently condemning the attacks on the Reform and Conservative synagogues in Ra'anana, Israel.
Arzenu supports this condemnation and adds its voice to all those who abhor intolerance from wherever it comes.
The World Union for Progressive Judaism notes with sadness and concern the recent attacks on two non-orthodox synagogues in the town of Ra’anana, located in Central Israel.
The vandalism of the Masorti and the Progressive synagogues (Conservative and Reform) is not only an affront to core Jewish values we hold sacred, but an attack on democracy and pluralism for which we strive in the land of our heritage. We are grateful that municipal authorities are taking these attacks seriously and pursuing all possible leads to find the perpetrators. We stand with the leadership of the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism as well as the Masorti community in Israel in decrying intolerance from wherever it comes – especially if it comes from those who claim to stand by “traditional” values.
