Simchat Torah in Monpelier, France

Last Sunday I was in Montplier, south-west France, with my wife, Rabbi Naamah Kelman and we were with the liberal community, celebrating Simchat Torah with them. It was very moving. There are wonderful people, struggling to maintain a community without a rabbi. Not easy, in general, and certainly not in France where the Orthodox are so dominant.
