ARZA USA Announces New Executive Director

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Rabbi Daniel Allen will assume the position of ARZA Executive Director beginning on July 1. From now until
the end of June he will be in the ARZA office on a consulting basis to help
with the planning of a major fundraising campaign to support the work of our
Movement in Israel.

The hiring of Rabbi Allen represents a strengthening of a key element of ARZA's
mission--raising funds to help the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism
continue its growth and exemplary service to the people of Israel. Rabbi
Allen comes to us with a long and distinguished career as an organizational
leader and fundraiser. He most recently served as the CEO of the American
Friends of Magen David Adom. Under his leadership AFMDA nearly tripled the four
year campaign statistics to a new high. Previously Rabbi Allen served as the
CEO of the United Israel Appeal, then the owner of the National United Jewish
Appeal, and the Director of the National United Jewish Appeal’s Young
Leadership Cabinets.

Our challenge is to support Israel
through education and advocacy and to support the Israel Movement for
Progressive Judaism. IMPJ has grown in recent years and needs our assistance to
continue its positive impact on Israel
society. Rabbi Allen, an acknowledged expert on Israel
and American based Israel
philanthropy, is the right person to lead us forward.

I encourage you to be present at our Board meeting/National Assembly which will
be held in Chicago
from Sunday afternoon, April 25 to Monday afternoon, April 26. We will
have an opportunity to both thank Rabbi Scott Sperling for his exemplary
service as ARZA's Interim Executive Director and to meet and hear from Rabbi
Allen.

In closing, I want to be sure to thank our Search Committee, chaired by Susan
Fratkin, for the dedication and hard work that led to the hiring of Rabbi
Allen. I am excited by what the future holds for ARZA. As always, thank
you for your support.
